Ok, My projector was great, perfect, but now the film in it judders (whichever) film and I have pushed that thing (sorry, lol) and it wont lstop juddering. It doesnt judder in reverse. It went wrong after (unfortunatly) i put in a film trailer for a Humprey Bogart movie and about a few seconds in the film got stuck and one frame started to melt or burn or something (I couls see this on the projection). I turned off the projector really fast. But now every film judders. I assume that the incedent damaged the Gate or something. Myabe now it is too loose. What shall I do?

    Thanks

Ok, um which bit is the gate? Is it the bit (where the light shines thro the film) that sits against the film which can be removed, or is it the bit which sits behind the film?

The gate is the rectangular hole where the light is allowed to shine through the film. There should also be a sprung part which holds the film up against the gate, this is the pressure plate.

I think that what may have happened is when the film melted it left a residue behind which is preventing the film from being transported smoothly.
